Graphicat Sketch Challenge

Hello my friends... Happy President's Day
(for those of you here in the states) heehee!

Today I'm sharing the card I made for the next

Our lovely Cheri has such a knack for creating
the most awesome sketch designs!
And that's in addition to coming up with clever
sentiments and adorable stamps!
All of which you can check out at her on-line store:

But now back to my card...
For this little baby I started with some Crate Paper,
 the Farmhouse Collection.
I used the Simply Betty Stamp, Birthday Tilly, again...
(as I'm trying to perfect my coloring craft, haha,)
and Cheri's "Happy Birthday" digi.
Also some I Am Roses, and a MFT flourish.
And really the best feature of all...
Cheri's sketch...

So pop on over to the challenge blog for addtional details,
and to check out the other DT member's awesome inspirations.
This time the winner (selected by random.org) will
get Cheri's Margarita Clear Stamp Set!

Thanks again guys! Your visits and comments, as always,
are thoroughly appreciated!
Hugs,

Yvonne

I Am Roses Project ... Be Divine

Yesterday was AWESOME! My sisters came over and we scrapped, and talked, and laughed all day!  We each set a goal... we wanted to get three things done.  Yvette and I were making altered balsa boxes, and cards.  My sister Lydia, worked on just cards.   And thanks to Yvette, our ring leader ~ and oldest sibling, we were able to, for the most part, stay on task and get everything done. One of my self appointed assignments for today was an I Am Roses DT project...
and that's the one I'll be sharing with you now!

I started with the awesome little box from Michael's
( I just can't get enoughof those!)
The paper collection is Be Happy from the Follow Your Heart,
My Mind's Eye line.

And the lovely collection of flowers is from

The cherub images were purchased from an etsy shop...
Iralamija and it's owned by Beatriz Jennings.
Here is the video if you'd like to watch,
and additional photos below:

Thank you my friends for stopping by!
Hope you stop by again tomorrow as I will be posting a
card with some awesome stamps from some awesome peeps!
Hugs,

Yvonne

Abby Scrapbookaholic's Birthday Challenge!

Challenge #3/ Reto #3
BIRTHDAY

For all challenges participants can create anything they
wish, a card, a LO, an altered item, a sign.

Para todos los retos las participantes pueden
crear lo que gusten, ya sea una tarjeta,
un LO, algo alterado, letrero, cajitas.

Here's my card:

This week's challenge was sponsered by
Simply Betty Stamps
This image is "Birthday Tilly"
The paper is from My Mind's Eye,
it's called Dilly Dally and it's from the Miss Caroline collection.
The flourish is a Die-namic from "My Favorite Things"

So, I tried a new 3D technique that I saw someone on
Pinterest use.  I didn't quite achieve the look I was going for...
but hey I tried!  Next one will be better! Heehee!

I copied the Birthday Tilly image three times.
Colored two of them with my copics, and the third image I
colored mostly black and gray with my Prismacolors.

Next I cut the hair and cupcake as if I were paper pieceing, and
popped them up with pop dots for the three dimentional effect.

Then I think it's a good start, and with some more
practice I think it'll eventually look asthetically smoother :)

Finally, I also popped up some additional flower,
and the sweet senti Abby's created.

Abby's Stamps can be found at

Thanks again ladies for stopping by!
Have a great day!
Hugs,

I'd like to share the project I posted today on the I Am Roses YouTube channel.

It's one of the clear plastic paint can you can pick up at Michael's... and it looks like this:

Except that one I used is a little taller than the one pictured here.

I used the Butterfly Garden paper collection from Pink Paislee.

Some lovely lace from The Jule Box, some Lindy's Stamp Gang
Glitz Spritz, and topped it all off with the loveliest flowers in the business...

I used the following:
Special 3
R2
R3
R40
T20

Abby's 2012 "Dilo En EspaƱol" Challenge #2

For all of Abby's challenges participants can create anything they wish, a card, a LO, an altered item, a sign.

Para todos los retos las participantes pueden crear lo que gusten, ya sea una tarjeta, un LO, algo alterado, letrero, cajitas.

Challenge #2/ Reto #2
Begins on February 3, 2012
Theme/Tema
LOVE/AMOR
Use at least 3 hearts/utilizar por lo menos 3 corazones

Here is the card I made:

I love that this card is filled with so much cuteness!
The Kiki LaRue Stamp, the three little sparkely hearts,
But my favorite part of all, is the faux scalloped oval border
that I created using a straight edge punch!!!
AND I learned how to do it from...

I wish I could remember who did it, but apparently I didn't pin it, and
now I can't find who to credit for such a brilliant idea!
It was so super easy!
I was apprehensive and doubtful at first,
but decided to try it anyway,
AND IT WORKED!!!
I used the MS punch pictured below, and punched a strip of
white paper.  I actually didn't make it long enough,
as I had no idea how much it would take to get
all the way around. So I just punch a little more
and continued the same way...
and it worked out just fine!

As you note in the picture below, the trick is to cut slits part way through the border so that you're able to "curve" the paper.  If you look at the back view, you'll note where the cuts on the border were made, and how I was able to lay it down.

Isn't that just so clever!

This little trick just expanded my options for borders exponentially!
YAY!!! You should give it a try!

Thank you for visiting my friends, and don't forget to go
This week's prize is an adorable stamp from
The Greeting Farm!
So go check her out!

Yvonne

CHA Projects...

As CHA comes to a close, I am filled with anxiety, as I wait for all the latest and greatest releases to make their way to my favorite shopping spots!!! I'm especially anxious to get my hands on the Tim Holtz Distress Markers, and ALL of his new dies!!!!

This year our lovely Tracey, from Lindy's Stamp Gang, along with her amazing Design Team (minus a few sad members that were not able to make the trip out to Cali - yours truly included) set up shop!  From the pics I've seen, and the FB post's I've read... LSG totally ROCKED at CHA!

But of course they did!!! When you bring the Best of the Best with you, that's what happens!  The CHA booth was manned by the likes of Arlene, Bona, Cindy, Jo, Limor, Ivett, Sharon, and Karla!
Check out the pics:

For weeks before CHA, the Design Team worked on completing
a variety of projects.  All of the creations featured all of
Lindy's Glimmery Goodness and were used to display at the booth.
Here are some of the items I prepared:

So although I'm sad that I couldn't be out there with the rest of the team,
I'm excited, proud, and grateful to have had the opportunity to
have a few of my pieces displayed there!  And more than anything...
I am honored to represent such a wonderful company!

Thank you, my friends, for stopping by!
Hugs,
Yvonne
