Life's Little Delights...

Hello Blog-O-Sphere Friends!

I'm just sitting here this morning with a hot cup of joe, and a smile on my face.  A smile undoubtedly plastered on my face 'cause I have nothing to do... absolutely nothing.  And so I'm taking this opportunity of peace and quiet to reflect on why I'm feeling so happy.

I can start with the obvious, I'm a teacher on summer break and that in itself is exhilarating! School just ended about five days ago and I haven't had enough time yet to miss everything I love about my job. So right now I'm just happy to bask in the comfort and knowledge that I did all that I could do to make this last year all that it could be.  I fell in love with my students, I gave them all I had, and I am so proud of their growth.  It was a successful year, I packed up my room and put everything away, now I can rest and recharge for the next school year.

I am happy because I have more time to enjoy other areas in my life that I tend to put on the back burner throughout the school year.  One of my life's little delights... PAPERCRAFTING!!!

The need to create pretty little things with paper is at an all time high right now!  I joined the ladies at Latinas Arts & Crafts again this week for another one of their fun challenges.  This week the challenge included a tutorial for creating a little recipe box.  You can find the tutorial HERE.  And if you're into papercrafts, I encourage you to join in on the fun!

Here is my box:

My sister Yvette, found this amazing paper pad at Hobby Lobby,
and bought one for each of us!
One of the many reasons I love that woman so much, just so generous,
and knows just what I love!

The paper pad is from Paper Studio and is called Petals & Bloom.
If you don't have a Hobby Lobby close by, you can find it HERE.
Isn't it pretty! It features all of my favorite colors and designs! Love, love, love it!
This is actually my second project with this amazing paper collection.  I had to put it on hold to complete this challenge.  But here's a sneak peek, I'll be sure to share when it's all done!
Hope you have time to enjoy your own personal delight today my friends!

Latinas Arts & Crafts Reto #67

Hello fellow Scrappers!

It's been so long since I last posted, I had to reset my password! I hope the format hasn't changed much, since I'm definitely a little rusty blogging.  Well, my friends so much has happened since I last posted.  I rarely have time to craft, I'm teaching a new grade level, my oldest has moved to NYC, my youngest has completed his first year of college, and for heavens sakes... the country has elected a new leader that I would have never, in a million years, foreseen.  But here we are... enjoying the blessings of another day filled with sunshine and smiles.  And if you're here, reading this, then you too are blessed with a little extra time to peruse the internet in search of information and pictures about our shared passion - Papercrafts!

So here it is, my little piece to share:

I created this tag in order to participate in a papercraft challenge being hosted by a lovely group of ladies over at Latinas Arts & Crafts Blog.  Reto #67 challenges participants to prepare any project of their choice as long as it includes "Hilos e Hilazas" (threads and yarns.) In order to meet the requirements, I first intertwined thread throughout the flowers. Next, I used jute to spell out the word "love."  I glued it directly onto the tag, and then gave it a coat of gesso, to both brighten the jute's natural fiber color and to harden it into place. Although jute isn't exactly "yarn," I'm hoping to still be eligible for this fun challenge.  Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed visiting.
Have a great day!

Feb. Pocket Letter #2 for Tsunami Rose

Hello Again!

Back with another Pocket Letter featuring Tsunami Rose Designs as promised.  This one is a little bit more Valentine's Day-ish, since I've used more traditional colors.

"Love and Loyalty" is such a romantic collection, prefect for this time of year.
The printable journal kit comes with 25 beautiful pages ready to download instantly.
Once you have it you can print as much or  as little as you need for each project.
This kit has so many great sentiments and lovey-dovey quotes.
And I love that I can resize them to fit any project I'm working with.

Equally delightful is Daisy's "Add On" kit.  It's full page designs allow for creating a multitude of coordinating projects, such as lay-outs, altered tags, and junk journals.
You can check out Daisy's Design Team's project for inspiration and ideas
on how to use all of her digital designs HERE.

Well my friends, I hope you enjoyed the visit.  Please leave a comment and let
me know what you think!  I'm grateful for any input and I hope you
have an awesome day and an amazing Valentine's Day tomorrow!
Happy Crafting!
Big Hugs,
Yvonne

Feb. Pocket Letter #1 for Tsunami Rose

 Hello there friends!
Today's post is the first in 9 months! WOW!  Well, I've been roused out of hibernation by the lovely Digital Designer… Daisy Collins, aka Tsunami Rose.  The project I'm sharing is a Pocket Letter created with her latest collection "Love & Loyalty."

The collection is as lovely, and as vibrant in it's hues, in person as it is in the above photo… actually even more so!  Daisy describes it as
"all about love and unapologetically slathered in florals."

Here is my Pocket Letter

The paper is just scrumptious and I was happy for the chance to work with it.
I hope you will check it out, I think you too will enjoy it's quality and versatility.
Happy February!  I'll bee back in a couple of weeks to share another
Pocket Letter using the same collection, but with another color scheme.
Please leave a comment and let me know what you think!
Sharing your thought is always appreciated!
Happy Crafting!
Thank you for stopping by &
Big Hugs,
Yvonne

Pocket Letter Pals

Hello there Pals!
Soooo, just in case you haven't heard… There's a new trend ravaging our little crafting community!!! But you must have heard!  It all started on Instagram, and quickly spread like wild fire!  It's a new and creative way of corresponding with a pen-pal!

Pocket Letters were created by Janette Lane; her idea was both simple and yet so amazing!  Basically, you use a traditional baseball card collecter's sleeve, and fill each pocket with a little something.  First and far most, include a letter for your "pal," and then some tags, some goodies, and maybe even a little bit of tea!  Each pocket is 2.5 x 3.5, which happens to be the exact size of an ATC (Artist Trading Card.)

So of course, the chance to make 9 ATCs to swap with a new friend, and share goodies with them, is driving paper crafters like me nuts!!! It's so much fun and soooo addictive!  Here is the last one I made, I finished it just tonight!  It features the prettiest paper designed my sweet friend Daisy Collins aka Tsunami Rose.  It's her latest journal kit and can be found in her shop here.  It is appropriately name Rose Azure, and it is as lovely as it's name.
Here is my Pocket Letter:

So there it is… my Pocket Letter, all ready to be shipped off to a new Pal!
If you haven't already you should definitely give it a try.  And seriously when
you have amazing paper to work with, the Pocket Letters practically make themselves!

And this paper collection is ah-mazing! I love everything about it... the grungy
shabby "chicness" it embodies.  The rich full bodied colors, the vintage designs...
every element Daisy used fits perfectly and harmoniously.

You can find Rose Azure and many other collections at
"Like" them on Facebook where you can join
and find daily inspirations.
You can also follow on Pinterest.
Both of her shops (Etsy & Zibbet) offer instant downloads.

Thank you guys for stopping by!
Happy Scrapping & Paper Crafting!!

Charming Fragments by Tsunami Rose

Hello My Bloggin' Buddies,
Daisy's newest digital collection "Charming Fragments" is comprised of a delightful assortment of timeless images with an elegant classical touch.  For this project I created an extra large tag so that I could maximize the opportunity to show case as many beautiful details as possible!  The tag measures 9 x 4.5 inches.  And I thought the clever use of Tim Holtz's "fragments" would be perfect for this project.  Not only for the wordplay value, but also because it gave me the chance to highlight a multitude of the "charming" images this collection offers!
Here it is:

Be sure to check out all the deals listed below!

Thanks for stopping by, be sure to let me know what you think!

Let's Catch Up!

It's been so long! Nine months to be exact! I could have created a new human being in that time...
but I didn't.  I'm far too old for that!
But I have been creating... tags, lots and lots of tags!
Here's a small selection...

They all contain lovely little butterflies created my good friend Renea Harrison.
I spent a few months on her Design Team, and totally enjoyed her easygoing
team management style. But most of all I enjoyed working with such beautiful
and unique embellishments.  Each butterfly is handcrafted and the detail is amazing!

Well, I'll try to make it back more often!
Happy November and Big Scrappy Hugs!
