A Lil' Lindy's Love...

Hello Blog Buddies!
I'm ready to share some Lindy Love with you all! Hope you're all doing wonderfully! Yesterday was pretty wonderful for me.  It was President's Day, so I had the day off!  Which meant I got to play with all of the Lindy's goodness in my crafty space.

Last week I had a chance to join Limor, another DT mate, during one of her UStream classes, and I had a blast! As many of you already know, Limor is terribly sweet and tremendously talented.  Well, it definitely put me in the mood for making a tag.  Here it is, along with the three main ingredients:
Moon Shadow Mist in Buccaneer Bay Blue & Mystic Malachite
Magicals in Baby Blue Eyes Aqua

I started with an ordinary size eight tag, chicken wire mask, and some Golden Molding Paste.  I alternated multiple layers of both Moon Shadows and the Magical, heat setting between each layer. For the rolled flowers and the flourish, I used a paintbrush to apply instead of spraying.

I liked the swirly look of the rolled flower die, so I decided to only roll one.  The rest I used to layer on the tag.  I finished it up with the flourishes, a Jolee butterfly, and an assortment of metal pieces that were all enhanced with the Moon Shadow Mists.

Here's another look:

Well my friends, so glad you were able to stop by!
Hope you'll leave a comment with any thoughts or questions!
Thank you and have a craft~happy day!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hello All!
I have a card to share in honor of Valentine's Day!  I got this fabulous freebie from
Krista at Saturated Canary and I was just itching to get her done!  Here it is...
She was a lot of fun to color and I'm really happy with how she came out!
The paper is from My Mind's Eye and it's the "Love Me" 6x6 paper pad. The flowers
are from I Am Roses (pink) and Michael's $1.50 bin (red&white.)
The two lovely accent tickets are digis from Beatrice Jennings' etsy shop.

I'm entering it in the Latinas En America RED & PINK Challenge (Reto #56.)
Go check it out if you think you'd like to join in the fun.

Happy Valentine's Day

Challenge Entry for Latinas en America!

Hello there my fellow Scrap-Loving-Blog-Buddies...
Getting ready to close up shop as the weekend concludes, and will be waiting anxiously until I can get back to crafting next weekend!  Secretly wishing for some more "Snow Days" just so I can stay home and craft!  Anywhoo, I was quite productive these last two days, and was able to complete a project for the Latinas En America challenge (Reto #55.)  This week's challenge was to incorporate an image wearing WHITE clothes.  I knew immediately which image I wanted to use, one of my favorites from Kenny K... and here it is:
I further challenged myself to use older papers from my stash, and to make my own flowers! The paper stack is a Six By Six by My Mind's Eye called Dwell.  I believe it came out in 2011, and it has been sitting in my room since! Definitely time to break that baby out! For the flowers I used about 5 different flower punches & 2 different leaf punches.

Well my friends, that's all for now! If you get a chance, hop on over to the Latina en America blog and think about joining the challenge...this week's winner will get FIVE Kenny K digis!!! And WHO doesn't love Kenny!?!?!  Have a great day!

Hugs,
Yvonne

Graphicat Challenge #20

Hello Blog Buddies!!

Glad to be back in action! And what a great way to get started... another awesome Sketch Challenge from our awesome Cheri Cat!!!  She's releasing a new set of digital sentiments for Valentine's Day, and if you know Cheri, you'll agree that we probably should just call them "Anti-Valentine's Day" sentiments! So if you're tired of the same ole - same ole, mushy, gushy stuff, and you're looking to head in a different direction this year... you'll wanna check these out Graphicat Designs!

Here's one of the new sentiments in action...

Isn't it a great sketch? Cheri's just so good at this!
For this card, I turned the sketch on it's side.
Here's the original Sketch for Challenge #20...

Hope you all join us for this round,
'cause everyone that participates in this challenge will get a free digi!
So make sure you hop on over to the Challenge Blog for all the deets...

Oh and in case you're wondering about that kick-ass image I found
to match Cheri's senti so perfectly...
It's a pre-colored image from KennyK.  She's called "Lady Raven."
I kept the card really simple so that the sketch and digitals could shine through.
I did however, amp up the shine with a healthy dose of
Lindy's Stamp Gang Glitz Spritz in Scintillating Sliver.

Well my friends, thanks for stopping by.  I hope you'll have a minute to let me know what you think, love hearing from you guys! And don't forget to give it a shot and get that free digi!

Big Scrappy Hugs!
Yvonne

Vintage Christmas ATCs

Hello my friends...

I just finished going through ALL of my previous blog plots, and deleting a ton of pictures.  As some of you may know, I had reached the max of pics allowed, so deleting was just a quick fix.  I hear I can also remedy this problem by resizing each photo to minimize the space it takes up.  But until I figure out how to do that, I will keep my post short, and maybe just add links to my Facebook.  I guess we'll see how it goes...

Anywhoo, here's a (small) pic of some ATCs I made for a swap over at myscraproom.ning:

I hope my group will like them, they were quick and easy since I didn't have access to all of my goodies.  My room was renovated and I was aching to do something, so this was what I came up with.  And it did put me in the holiday spirit, so I was happy!

Hope you all had a very Merry Christmas, and may the new year bring you many blessing!
Hugs,
Yvonne

Hello Again!

Hey Blog Buddies!
It's been so long... so much has happened, but I've missed my little blog and I just wanted to pop in and say hello!  So I'll try to make a long story short...

Back in October, the plumbing in our entry level bathroom malfunctioned and flooded two levels in my home. Miraculously, nothing of sentimental value was ruined.  And none of my craft supplies were damaged either.  So, all in all it was unfortunate, but certainly nothing truly tragic, and for that I am thankful and feel blessed.

The damage did require the replacing of some floors and some walls. In order to get the revonvations done, I had to pack up three rooms and empty them out. One of the rooms being my "crafty" corner. Since I had to pack up and move my supplies, my ability to craft came to a screeching halt.  I was feeling pretty bummed about that, but I tried to keep everything in it's proper prespective... fully aware that things could have been much worse. Here's a pic of my crafty corner "before" renovations and the "almost after."
Besides the huge hole in the ceiling, the saddest part was seeing my room looking so bare and lonely without the hustle and bustle of paper scraps and Lindy's and paint and glue and punches & dies! LOL!

So anyways, I ended up resigning from the I Am Roses Design Team.  It was a wonderful experience and an honor to work with some of my favorite crafters. As for the other teams, I'm currently on "sabbatical" (heehee) until I can get my room and supplies operational again.

However, I find myself suffering withdrawal symptoms!  I need to be crafty in some shape, form, or manner or I'm just besides myself with anxiety! I know you all know what I'm saying!!  So I find ways to feed that urge to cut, glue, and create.  I visit my sister, Yvette, and scrap with her.  Or I rummage through boxes at night, once the construction crew has left, and find a few things here and there that I can throw together real quick.  And when true desperation kicks in, I run to Michael's and buy things I'm sure I already have!! Crazy right?  Last week, in a moment of weakness I joined a SWAP!! Let me tell you how creative you can be when you're forced to do without...  take a look at the ATC's I came up with, the theme was Vintage Christmas...
Hmm, well I guess I'll have to get back to you with a pic.  Apparently I've run out of room and can no longer post pics unless I purchase more storage space?  When did that policy take effect?  I'll do some research and get back to y'all soon, but if you know more about this, please fill me in, would love to know more about it! In the meanwhile you can see the pic on Pinterest or Facebook.
Hugs...
Yvonne
