Hello my Bloggin' Buddies...
Well as most of you know, my daughter headed back to college last week. This being her second year, I've been dealing with it fairly well... until today. I'm not even sure why, or what even set it off.
I've been trying my best to keep myself busy... making lots of cards, entering many challenges, pimping myself out to anyone needing or wanting a Guest Designer. My youngest and I have been spending a lot of time together, going to the pool, hitting balls at the driving range... I even submitted to going to see a movie he picked, aaaaaand I'm pretty sure that just watching it, dropped my IQ several points.
Nevertheless, I'm experiencing an overwhelming sense of longing for her company. Surely every parent with college-aged kids go through this same thing, and the ones I know, tell me "don't worry, it'll be okay..." Well, yes, I know it will be okay. BUT I still don't like it, and it still hurts that she's so far away... and so here I'll sit waiting to feel "okay" again. However, I will not be idle as I sit and wait... I will make MORE cards, and enter MORE challenges, and spend MORE time with my boy. LOL!
So, I've made a card for my daughter Megan. The sentiment simply says "fly"... My hubby and I did the best we could raising her to be strong, smart, and self-sufficient. And now that it's her time to "fly," I hope and pray that she "SOARS."
I've entered this card in this week's
and the challenge is to use LAYERS...
The paper collection is Valise by Memory Box
The Senti is a Rub-on from Michael's
The Flowers were a gift from my dear friend
Friday
and they're from Prima...
Almost as lovely as the person who gave them to me!
Wish you could see all the luscious shimmery goodness
Let me find a better pic... okay here it is...
I sprayed it all with Lindy's Stamp Gang in
I'm loving the Glitz Spritz, it's so versatile. It's just glitter, so
you get tons of sparkle without compromising the color!
Okay and just one more pic, 'cause I watched a vid today and learned a
new Copic coloring technique. I used it on this image, and I'm really
excited about how it turned out...
Here's the vid I watched:
It's by
Arlene the great "mybutterflykisses12" on YouTube.
The technique is to use your colorless blender to lay a
base for blending before you color with your Copic Markers.
So my friends... long post, right? Thank you for bearing through it!!! : P
Please leave a comment and let me know what you think!
Smooches, Yvonne ❤❤❤
